Job summary

Penguin Recruitment seeks a Senior Lighting Consultant to join its growing Lighting team. The role is permanent with a competitive salary and excellent benefits, based in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Leicestershire with flexible working.

You will design street lighting, perform impact and daylight assessments, mentor juniors, and lead projects. Responsibilities include client liaison, site surveys, and delivery within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in lighting design, impact assessments, and/or daylight assessments.
  • Proficiency in Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and client liaison.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally for site visits and meetings.

  • Produce high-quality reports, design models, drawings, and calculations.

  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations as required.
  • Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and industry standards.
  • Support business development activities, including fee proposals and client care.
  • Manage lighting projects across various sectors, ensuring delivery within budgets and timelines.
  • Prepare and agree on fee proposals, project scopes, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, including graduates and apprentices.
  • Conduct performance reviews, training plans, and regular one-to-one meetings.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, focusing on employee wellbeing.

Senior Lighting Consultant
Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Consultant to join our growing Lighting team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The role can be based in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Leicestershire, with flexible working arrangements available.

As a Senior Lighting Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments across a diverse range of projects. You will also manage projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Lighting team.

Responsibilities
