Job summary

St Helens College is seeking a Senior Library and Learning Resource Assistant to supervise a team across multiple sites, delivering a professional, customer-focused service and guiding students and staff in library resources and learning technologies.

You will work with the Library & Learning Resource Manager to develop services, manage operations and create a welcoming environment that supports learning and wellbeing, with opportunities for CPD and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a busy library or learning resource centre.
• Experience dealing with a wide range of customer enquiries and supporting service users.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office and digital systems.
• Experience supervising colleagues and contributing to team development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and support a team across multiple sites.
• Deliver excellent frontline customer service to students and staff.
• Assist users in accessing library catalogues, databases and IT systems.
• Coordinate staff rotas and daily operations.
• Support library inductions and learner support activities.
• Assist with development of library collections and resources.
• Monitor usage data and maintain records.
• Organise events and activities to enhance the student experience.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety and security.
