Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Library Team Manager to lead Hayling Island and Emsworth Libraries within a busy county service. You will guide a large staff and volunteers, driving growth and strong community engagement across nine libraries in the East area.

You will oversee operations, health and safety, contractor liaison, and staff development, contributing to a vibrant, customer-focused library network across Hampshire.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of managing and leading a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with staff and partners.
• Ability to motivate, support and engage with team members.
• Community and customer-focused approach to library services.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks under pressure.
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Champion the role of the libraries to provide opportunities for all ages.

• Lead and implement countywide projects aligned with the service vision.
