Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a Senior Claims Negotiator to independently investigate, assess, negotiate and settle liability and property damage claims within delegated authority. You will also support complex cases, liaise with insurers and contribute to delivering a high-quality claims service.

The role requires experience of handling high-value claims, strong stakeholder relationships and knowledge of legal procedures relevant to liability claims.

Qualifications

• Evidence of handling high-value, complex claims.
• Experience managing litigation processes for casualty portfolios.
• Proven ability to build relationships with Senior Management Teams and external partners.
• Experience supervising others and ensuring quality and deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of current legal procedures and case law on liability claims.
• Technical knowledge of liability claims and related classes (motor, property damage, travel).
• Ability to explain complex information clearly to all levels.

Responsabilités

• Investigate, assess, negotiate and settle liability and material damage claims within delegated authority.
• Assist with handling complex property damage and personal injury claims and liaise with insurers when limits exceeded.
• Oversee external service providers to ensure value for money and service quality.
• Support legacy and insolvency-related claims and long-tail cases.
• Deputise for senior management when required and provide team leadership.
