Job summary

Oasis Academy Fir Vale in Sheffield is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work under teaching staff, delivering targeted learning, care and support for pupils, including SEND and EAL learners. Qualifications

• Level 3 EYFS qualification (or equivalent).
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Inclusive practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Confident using ICT to support teaching and assessment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and flexibility.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and promote high expectations.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, EAL, EHCPs and additional learning needs.
• Support pupils' safety, wellbeing, personal care needs and emotional development.
• Promote inclusion and ensure access to learning opportunities.
• Support implementation of IEPs, EHCPs, Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
• Deliver structured interventions and learning activities to address individual needs.
• Monitor, assess, record and report on pupil achievement, progress and development.
• Encourage independence, resilience, self-esteem and positive attitudes to learning.
• Share effective EAL strategies with colleagues to improve pupil outcomes.
• Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to discussions with parents, teachers and external agencies regarding progress.
