Job summary

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law at the University invites applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer in Education to contribute to the design, delivery and assessment of education courses, including initial teacher training. You will teach across all levels, from masters to doctoral students, and engage in scholarly activity and personal tutoring.

The role requires a first degree in a science-based subject and/or PGCE, a PhD, and a willingness to complete an HE teaching

Qualifications

  • A first degree in a science-based subject and/or PGCE in Science or related discipline.
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in a relevant field.
  • Qualified teacher status with willingness to complete HE teaching qualification within two years of employment.
  • Experience teaching in the UK education system.

Job description

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law is seeking to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer in Education to play a key role in the design, delivery and assessment of our education courses including initial teacher training. You will be teaching across all levels including at master’s and doctorate level. You should have experience of teaching in the UK education system. The role is varied and interesting with a mix of teaching, research/scholarly activity and personal tutoring of students.


You will hold a first degree in a science-based subject and/or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Science based subject) or a related discipline, and a PhD or equivalent doctoral level qualification in relevant discipline. You will be a qualified teacher and hold or be willing to complete a relevant HE Teaching Qualification normally within two years of employment.
