Job summary

Kings Heath Primary Academy in Northamptonshire is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching under supervision, contribute to the curriculum, and help raise standards for all pupils. The role is term-time (39 weeks), 32.5 hours per week, with a fixed contract to 31 August 2027.

You will assist planning, monitor progress, and work with staff to support pupils with diverse needs, including SEN and EAL, in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
• Understanding of child development and learning processes.
• Ability to organise, lead and motivate others.
• Knowledge of national curriculum and learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision from a qualified teacher.
• Complement delivery of the national curriculum and support staff.
• Undertake specified teaching duties as agreed with Headteacher.
• Collaborate with staff and assist with planning and resource management.
• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
