Job summary

The King’s Academy is seeking a proactive Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND team. This role supports pupils with learning needs under guidance from teaching staff to enable access to learning and assist with classroom management.

This 1-year fixed term contract runs during term time with an additional week; hours are Monday to Thursday 8:20–15:20 and Friday 8:20–14:30. The position emphasizes honesty, integrity and professional standards for teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

• Work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for students and to assist the teacher in the management of students and the classroom.
• The Teaching Assistant will act with honesty and integrity and uphold the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants.
