Job summary

Oasis Academy Watermead in Sheffield seeks a Senior Learning Mentor to work with pupils, families and staff to remove barriers to learning. You will lead nurture groups, coordinate breakfast clubs and provide targeted support to students at risk of under-achieving.

You will monitor progress, develop individual action plans, and maintain strong communication with carers and outside agencies to support sustained improvement in attendance and achievement.

Qualifications

• Qualifications GCSEs (A-C) including English and maths
• Experience of working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties is desirable
• Willingness to develop within an education setting

Responsibilities

• Manage and set up nurture groups and breakfast clubs.
• Support the monitoring and implementation of the academy's behaviour policy.
• Maintain up-to-date pupil records and data bases; communicate with staff and families.
• Lead 1:1 counselling sessions and group work such as anger management and self-esteem.
• Support pupils during transitions between Key Stages and during attendance issues.
