Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde seeks a Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse to join its CAMHS Learning Disability Team, providing specialist support across Tier 3 CAMHS across NHSGGC. Live NMC pin required. Based at Templeton Business Centre, 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00.

This fixed-term role offers opportunities for professional development within Scotland’s largest NHS Board, with multidisciplinary collaboration and a focus on delivering person-centred care to children and families.

Qualifications

• First Level Registered Learning Disability Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience with children, young people and families in learning disability, mental health or CAMHS.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and developmental needs.
• Excellent communication and partnership working across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently and make complex clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist LD nursing assessment, intervention and support for children and young people with complex needs.
• Work within CAMHS teams to deliver high quality person-centred care.
• Undertake holistic and risk assessments and care planning.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with children, young people and families to promote engagement and positive outcomes.
• Provide specialist advice and support to CAMHS colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to supervision, mentorship and service improvement.
• Coordinate with education, social work and third sector partners for coordinated care.
