NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a Community Charge Nurse - Perinatal Mental Health Service Band 6. Based at Leverndale Hospital, it offers permanent, full‑time 36 hours per week with possible part‑time 28.8 hours.

The post involves delivering care across pregnancy and the first postnatal year within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be RMNH with NMC registration and Band 5 experience, with skills in assessment, care planning and risk management.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Must have nursing experience at Band 5 level prior to applying.
• Knowledge and experience in mental health assessment, care planning and risk management are essential.
• Access to an internal teaching programme and opportunities to undertake external training and professional development.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development is expected.

Responsabilités

• Undertake specialist assessments of patient care needs during pregnancy and the first postnatal year.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care.
• Manage a caseload of patients experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.
• Deliver care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals, in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.
• Participate in the screening and prioritisation of new referrals.
• Provide specialist advice and support to healthcare professionals.
• Respond to urgent and developing situations within own caseload and through the Perinatal Advice Line/Duty Service.
• Take charge of the team in the absence of the Nurse Team Lead.
• Support the supervision, teaching and development of junior staff.
• Mentor nurses undertaking pre‑registration and post‑registration training.
