Job summary

Carshalton College is seeking a Senior Learning Coach to support students aged 16-25 with learning disabilities and complex needs. The role involves planning and delivering teaching sessions, learning and assessment to help learners progress and achieve qualifications.

Ideal candidates will have recent experience with diverse needs, be flexible to curriculum changes, and demonstrate strong computer literacy. DBS checks and pro-rated benefits are part of the package.

Term Time Only (36 hours a week over 40 weeks a year)Our Senior Learning Coaches support students to succeed in achieving learning goals and qualifications to enhance progression opportunities and life skills. They also assist with the planning and delivery of teaching sessions, learning and assessment for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties including autism and complex needs.We'd like you to have recent experience of working with and supporting students aged 16-25 with a range of needs and be able to work flexibly in response to changing curriculum needs and the needs of individual students. With a positive ‘can-do' attitude and an enthusiastic personality, you will be able to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate a high level of computer literacy.Experience of working in a specialist school or college would be an advantage, as would experience of sourcing work experience placements for young people with additional needs.The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.Closing date for the return of a complete online application is 11th November 2026There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer, subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
