Job summary

Ministry of Justice in Leeds seeks a Deputy Director for Criminal Justice System Strategy and Reform. This senior leadership role will guide cross-system priorities, oversee strategic delivery and drive evidence-based reform across the criminal justice landscape.

You will advise ministers, align priorities, and lead a team to shape the future of the system with strong stakeholder engagement and data-informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in a complex public sector environment.
• Proven ability to translate political priorities into clear outcomes and programmes of work.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior officials and ministers.

Responsibilities

• Providing visible and inclusive leadership across the Directorate and a team of 15–20 FTE.
• Leading development and delivery of a shared vision, strategy and outcomes for the Criminal Justice System.
• Advising ministers and senior officials on cross-system priorities, risks and trade-offs.
• Building trusted relationships with senior leaders across government and criminal justice partners.
