Job summary

Thales in Glasgow is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to lead the systems design activities across the project lifecycle, with responsibilities spanning requirements elicitation, architecture, IVVQ, and risk management. Hybrid role based in Glasgow with travel to other sites as needed.

The role reports to the Head of Discipline for Systems Engineering and requires a proactive leader who can coordinate across engineering disciplines and stakeholders to deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading systems design activities across the project lifecycle.
• Strong ability to de-risk interfaces and manage system complexity.
• Proven track record coordinating across engineers and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical solution including requirements elicitation and architecture from concepts to solution.
• Manage interfaces between system functional chains and solution elements.
• Lead upfront IVVQ activities and support IVVQ management throughout lifecycle.
• Conduct design trades to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.
• Lead de-risk activities and identify mitigations across the project.
