Job summary

Thales Group is seeking an Engineering Delivery Manager in Glasgow on a hybrid basis. You will lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams, defining delivery strategy, managing interfaces across the programme, and ensuring cost, schedule and quality targets are met.

Security clearance is a consideration, with broad exposure to naval, air or land product domains. You will work closely with the Programme Manager and PDA, reporting to the Head of Engineering Delivery, and play a pivotal role in

Qualifications

• Strong background in engineering with experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Knowledge of systems engineering life cycle, practices and tools.
• Experience acting as a People Manager for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• lead high performing, multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver solutions meeting customer needs
• define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on estimates to ensure delivery
• manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme
• define the organisation and work breakdown with the Programme Manager to deliver to customer needs
• be in charge of meeting cost, schedule and quality of the whole engineering delivery for the programme
• define and manage engineering team work packages, resources, budgets, risks and timescales
• plan and prioritise activities to deliver to contract schedule, cost and quality
• day-to-day management of the engineering team’s activities and risk/opportunity handling
• manage and report engineering efficiency and identify reuse opportunities across the project
• act as the People Manager for the engineering team and contribute to reviews with discipline leads
