Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to support a major highways infrastructure project involving design and assessment of bridges, culverts and retaining walls. The role will focus on hands-on bridge design and is offered on a contract basis, with the flexibility to work remotely or from Manchester one day per week.

You will undertake detailed design, apply Eurocodes/DMRB, mentor juniors, and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

Extensive bridge engineering experience in highways or civil infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, UK bridge design standards and DMRB.
Experience designing and assessing bridges and civil structures.
Proficiency in bridge design software and structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Undertake detailed design and assessment of bridges and related structures.
Provide technical input across a highways scheme with multiple bridges and walls.
Design reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel or composite bridges.
Apply UK standards and Eurocodes to deliverables.
Carry out structural analysis and develop compliant solutions.
Prepare calculations, drawings, specs and reports.
Mentor junior engineers and guide delivery.
Collaborate with project teams to deliver outputs.
