Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the highways and infrastructure team on a permanent basis in the United Kingdom. The role covers optioneering, design and assessment of highway structures, including bridges and retaining walls, with technical leadership within a small design team.

The successful candidate will lead design teams, deliver tenders and reports, and promote CDM and safety practices across projects.

Formación

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Professional qualification or progress towards registration.
• Significant bridge engineering and highway structures experience.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Understanding of DMRB, FCD and CDM regulations.
• Strong design, structural analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience in bridge design or related infrastructure.

Our client is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join its highways and infrastructure team on a permanent basis. The role will involve the optioneering, design and assessment of highway structures, including bridges and retaining walls, while providing technical leadership within a small design team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor design teams undertaking structural analysis, optioneering and feasibility studies
• Design and assess bridge, retaining wall and other highway structures
• Prepare tenders, detailed designs, contract documents and technical reports
• Provide technical analysis, practical guidance and experience-based leadership across structures projects
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and other disciplines to deliver an integrated service
• Identify innovative solutions that provide best value for clients and project stakeholders
• Support and develop junior members of the design team through mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Promote strong health and safety, environmental, quality and CDM practices throughout project delivery

Job Requirements:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional engineering qualification or demonstrable progress towards professional registration
• Significant experience in bridge engineering and highway structures design or assessment
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes, including Eurocodes and British Standards
• Understanding of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works and CDM regulations
• Strong technical design, structural analysis and practical problem-solving skills
• Project management experience relating to bridge design or other infrastructure disciplines
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership and time management skills
