Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking a senior full-stack Kotlin developer in the United Kingdom. You will lead development of production-ready software using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot, building robust backend services and RESTful APIs.

You'll work across cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), implement IaC with Terraform, and champion DevOps practices with Jenkins or Azure DevOps. Hybrid work across multiple UK cities supported. The salary range reflects seniority and location.

Qualifications

• Solid, current experience developing in Kotlin and the JVM ecosystem.
• Strong Java development background.
• Extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring Framework.
• Experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience delivering robust, scalable and high-quality digital solutions.
• Strong understanding of public cloud platforms, ideally AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices, using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with frontend or full-stack technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, or Nunjucks.
• A consulting background would be advantageous, particularly if you have experience working directly with clients.
• Experience mentoring or coaching other developers would be highly desirable.

• Lead the development of user-centred, production-ready software.

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex client problems.
• Take ownership of development and deployment pipelines.
• Work across cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
• Communicate technical solutions, prototypes and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help identify and resolve technical issues and delivery bottlenecks.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, helping to raise engineering standards across the team.
