Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Senior Kotlin Developer to join our UK Digital & Cloud Practice. You will design, develop and maintain cloud-based software, providing technical leadership on large-scale transformation projects for government and private sectors.

The role offers flexible/remote working, opportunities for career growth and exposure to modern architectures, microservices and AI-enabled tooling. You will collaborate with PMs, BAs and product teams across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns, including microservices and message-driven architectures.
• NFR understanding and experience developing applications with this in mind.
• Application / Digital Services Design experience.
• Experience in software engineering practices like Code Reviews, CI/CD Pipelines and SOLID/DRY principles.
• Hands-on developing / coding role using: Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Experience in estimation and sizing.
• Integration experience.
• API Design experience.
• Cloud experience.
• Appetite to work with emerging AI technologies.
• SC Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain cloud-based software applications.
• Technical leadership within a team to coordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with industry practices.
• Work within an agile delivery methodology.
• Own product or software solution design, estimation, shaping and user story creation.
• Document architecture, configuration and release processes.
• Collaborate with Version 1 and customer stakeholders across the software lifecycle.
• Communicate technical designs clearly to stakeholders of varying technical ability.
• Provide knowledge transfer to team members and customers.
• Mentor and develop junior team members and foster collaboration.
