Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building, and operating production software systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong practical experience with Spring Data JPA, including ORM mapping and repositories.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native services (EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, SQS, SNS, S3).
• Experience integrating Java/Spring Boot with Legacy SOAP/XML systems.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and code-review skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development across one or more teams delivering Spring Boot services.
• Provide technical leadership on engineering practices, testing, deployment, and operation.
• Guide design, data access layers, and scalable service architectures.
• Lead integration of modern services with legacy SOAP/XML systems using Strangler Fig pattern.
• Influence build-vs-buy decisions with the Technical Architect and stakeholders.
• Identify tooling choices and technologies across many systems.
• Drive performance optimisations and database query tuning.
• Oversee overnight batch jobs and high-volume processing reliability.
• Coach and mentor developers; share knowledge across engagements.
• Contribute to Scrumconnect developer community and best-practice adoption.
• Support on-call incident response and resilience improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and testers to deliver value.
