Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Software Engineer III (Java & JavaScript) to design and develop scalable applications across identity and access management. You will work on authentication infrastructure, leveraging AWS ECS/EKS, and contribute to AI-assisted development workflows.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, code quality, and collaboration in an Agile environment, with opportunities to work across multiple identity providers and downstream APIs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, Node.js, React, XML, SQL.
• Experience with Keycloak, Auth0, or another identity provider.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows.
• Familiarity with data modelling and complex data models.

Responsibilities

• Interface with teammates to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for components.
• Translate requirements into software designs with team.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
• Work in Agile or other environments; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues and keep up with new tech.
• Complete bug fixes and improve test coverage.
