Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions Limited in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking Senior Java Engineers to design and deliver large-scale Java solutions within a hybrid, 12-month FTC. You will own technical delivery, mentor engineers and contribute to enterprise digital transformation.

Responsibilities include leading workstreams, building Spring Boot microservices, and collaborating with architects and DevOps while following Agile/Scrum practices. Transition to permanent role expected after FTC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial Java development experience.
• Proficient in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS and REST APIs.
• CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum delivery methods.
• Experience reviewing code and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing large-scale Java solutions.
• Building and maintaining Spring Boot microservices.
• Working with AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Leading technical workstreams and supporting solution delivery.
• Conducting code reviews and promoting engineering best practice.
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.
• Collaborating with architects, DevOps engineers and senior stakeholders.
• Supporting delivery through the full software lifecycle.
