Job summary

CyberNorth is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our engineering team in Newcastle, contributing to enterprise-scale applications and microservices. You’ll design, develop, test and deploy robust software within Agile delivery squads.

The role emphasizes hands-on Java 8+ development, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll mentor juniors, participate in CI/CD and work with relational and NoSQL databases in a dynamic, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

Professional experience developing applications using Java 8 or above.
Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience with object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Experience with Python and Shell scripting.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

Hybrid Working: This role will require you to work from our Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office 3 days per week.

The Role
