Job summary

Citi in Belfast, UK is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Java) for the Global Fixed Income Trade Processing team. You will design and develop large, distributed systems to capture and process high volumes of SFT trades, operating in a hybrid model with occasional remote work.

You will lead architectural decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate across technology and business partners to deliver resilient, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Solid Java & OOP foundations with production-grade code.
• Experience with Spring Boot and enterprise Java frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of financial domain, especially SFT (securities financing).
• Proven track record delivering large distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility studies, time/cost estimates, IT planning and risk analysis.
• Oversee development lifecycle and provide user/operations support.
• Analyse complex problems and design robust software solutions.
• Promote secure, standards-based design and post-implementation review.
• Collaborate with users and technology groups; mentor junior staff.
