Citi's Tech team in the UK is seeking a senior Applications Developer to help redefine global finance. You will contribute to low-latency, high‑impact systems used across 180+ countries, and work on cloud-native microservices powering real-time trade processing.

You will lead or guide developers, ensure reliability and performance, and collaborate with business teams to shape the architecture roadmap. This hybrid role offers mentorship, growth opportunities, and a competitive base salary.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in the Financial Service industry.
• Understanding of Fixed Income products and Security Financing Transactions.
• Senior developer with Java/Spring experience and microservice development.
• Extensive experience in building cloud-based services.
• Experience with high-volume microservices architectures.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
• Engineering best practices: design patterns, code reviews, unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead or guide developers in an Applications Development team and conduct performance evaluations.
• Provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
• Develop knowledge of how business areas integrate to achieve goals.
• Provide evaluative judgment based on data in complex situations.
• Develop reusable components and services using Citi practices.
• Create high-performance, low-latency applications.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of components.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to identify opportunities.
