Job summary

Citi in Belfast is seeking a Java Developer to join the Global Market Access team and help build the market access gateway that supports electronic trading. You will design, implement and maintain mission-critical services, ensuring resilience, low latency and strong security in a hybrid work model with a mix of on-site and remote days.

The role requires hands-on programming in Java and Python, experience with applications support, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Commercial experience developing software using Java and Python.
• Experience in applications support and maintenance.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilise knowledge of development procedures to identify system enhancements.
• Consult with users and other tech groups to recommend solutions and provide support.
• Apply programming knowledge to design specifications.
• Analyse applications for vulnerabilities, conduct testing and debugging.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and coach junior analysts.
• Identify problems, evaluate information and implement solutions.
• Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
