Job summary

Tesco Technology is seeking Senior Software Development Engineers to design and deliver robust Java-based software in a hybrid work model at Welwyn Garden City, UK. You will own the full development lifecycle, implement scalable architectures, and drive best practices across CI/CD, security, and observability.

You will collaborate with Azure, Terraform, and microservices ecosystems while mentoring peers and shaping performance improvements.

Qualifications

Solid experience delivering Java or JVM languages.
Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and infrastructure automation (Terraform).
Knowledge of microservices architectures and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality software solutions in Java with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
Contribute to Azure-based infrastructure and IaC (Terraform).
Implement and advocate CI/CD best practices for reliable delivery.
Maintain documentation and design artifacts for systems and processes.
Mentor engineers and support team growth.
Automate workflows and build tools to improve efficiency.
