Job summary

Tenth Revolution Group is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our Manchester-based engineering team, delivering high-quality software and technical leadership on large-scale, mission-critical systems.

You’ll design, build, and maintain Java applications, mentor peers, and contribute to architectural decisions while championing secure coding, performance, and DevOps practices in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in Java development (JVM-based languages Kotlin/Scala).
• Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful API design and development.
• Secure coding practices and threat assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and services.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and support.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Design and develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support live production services.
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality, security, and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance delivery.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
