Job summary

TXP in the UK is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the team. You will design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices and REST APIs within an agile environment, contributing to a modern, cloud-native architecture.

Work will involve Spring Boot, Kubernetes, unit testing with JUnit and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable backend solutions. The role supports a large-scale transformation programme; some onsite presence in Telford is required and BPSS

Qualifications

Strong Java experience in commercial environments.
REST API development with Spring Boot.
JUnit unit testing experience.
Experience with JSON data formats.
Hands-on with Kubernetes and containerised deployments.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Proven track record delivering in complex enterprise environments.

Senior Java Developer

Location: Telford (2 days per week onsite / 2 days per month depending on project requirements)
Rate: £550 per day
Contract Length: 12 Months
Clearance: BPSS Required

Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to join the COTAX Futures Team within Tax Administration, supporting a major programme focused on the modernisation of HMRC legacy services.

You will work within agile Scrum teams alongside Java Engineers, Front End Developers and Quality Engineers to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions and modern microservices architecture. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale digital transformation programme operating within a complex, enterprise-level environment.

Whilst previous Public Sector experience is desirable, it is not essential. Candidates must demonstrate experience working within large, complex technical environments, ideally within regulated industries such as Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Utilities, Telecommunications, or similar.
