Job summary

TXP is seeking a Senior Java Developer with AWS experience for a 6-month contract. The role is remote for UK-based candidates with full right to work, focusing on secure, cloud-native services for a major Government programme.

You will design, develop and enhance microservices in AWS, build RESTful APIs, and work within Agile teams with CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java development experience.
• Experience delivering solutions within AWS cloud environments.
• Proven experience building and supporting microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and QA collaboration.
• Exposure to Government or Public Sector delivery programmes.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with some proven lead experience, to join a major Government programme delivering secure, cloud-native digital services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience building scalable Java applications within AWS environments and will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing microservices-based solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Experience delivering solutions within AWS cloud environments
• Proven experience building and supporting microservices architectures
• Strong understanding of secure software development practices
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
• Previous experience delivering projects within Government or Public Sector organisations
• Knowledge of AWS services such as:
