Job summary

Nicoll Curtin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a permanent, fully remote UK-based role. You will design, build and deploy modern cloud-native solutions, shape technical direction, and promote engineering best practices across large-scale transformation programmes.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot and Microservices, collaborate with Product, UX, DevOps and QA teams, and mentor engineers while contributing to CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within complex software delivery environments.
• Consultancy experience.
• Public sector project experience.
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers.
