Job summary

MRP Global is seeking a Lead Java Engineer for a long-term engagement in the West Midlands, offering a hybrid role with 2 days onsite. You will lead Java-based service design and delivery, working with Spring, Kubernetes and cloud integration technologies.

Active BPSS Clearance is required or obtainable. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure delivery from design through production in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• BPSS clearance or ability to obtain UK security clearance.
• Strong commercial experience with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with platform integration and modern cloud technologies.
• Experience creating Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• Strong problem-solving and solution design skills.
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of Java-based services.
• Create detailed low-level designs (LLDs) based on architectural requirements.
• Develop and deliver scalable services using Java and Spring.
• Work with Kubernetes and cloud-based platforms.
• Lead technical discussions and drive solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with architects, QA leads, engagement managers and engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers.
• Promote engineering best practices and shared components.
• Support the delivery of services from design through to production.
