Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking a software engineer to join the authentication APIs team in the UK. You will help streamline customer experiences by exploring innovative authentication factors and dynamically assessing risk for each session across Tesco's ecosystem.

You'll work with a Java/Kotlin stack (Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Kubernetes, Azure, Kafka) within a DevOps culture, applying TDD and maintaining production systems, while mentoring juniors and collaborating with product and

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java preferred).
Hands-on experience building and supporting production Java applications.
Understanding of SOLID principles and clean, maintainable code.
DevOps mindset with incident response and RCA experience.
Collaborative team player with cross-functional work experience.

Responsibilities

Designing, building and maintaining high-performing mission-critical systems.
Collaborating with product managers to translate customer and business requirements into technical solutions.
Producing test-driven features and demonstrating your familiarity with the TDD cycle.
Supporting production systems, resolving incidents, and performing root cause analysis.
Sharing knowledge with the wider engineering community.
Mentoring and supporting and helping junior engineers within the team.
