Job summary

National Highways in England is seeking a Senior Technology Engineer to provide technical leadership for the identification and development of solutions for national operational technology assets. You will support renewals planning, ensure adherence to asset policies and standards, and guide regions in delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge and practical experience of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or comparable operational technology systems.
• Experience supporting planning, design, assurance or delivery of infrastructure or technology renewal programmes.
• Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 and its application to infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and technical assurance of solutions for renewals of operational technology assets, including evidence gathering and options for value management.
• Provide technical leadership to regional teams in planning and delivery of operational technology renewals.
• Provide technical expertise to Project Managers through assurance of equipment and materials and review of Health and Safety documentation.
• Undertake technical reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Support health, safety and wellbeing considerations throughout planning and delivery of services.
