Job summary

National Highways seeks a Senior Technology Engineer to provide technical leadership and expertise in the identification and development of solutions for operational technology assets across the national network. The role supports national approaches to technology renewals and ensures adherence to asset policies and standards.

You will help develop consistent ways of working across the organisation and provide technical guidance to regions in planning and delivering operational technology

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge and practical experience of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or comparable operational technology systems.
• Experience supporting planning, design, assurance or delivery of infrastructure or technology renewal programmes.
• Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 and its application to infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and technical assurance of solutions for improvements and/or renewals of operational technology assets.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to regional teams in planning and delivery of operational technology renewals.
• Undertake technical reviews of third-party designs and proposals to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Provide technical expertise to project managers through equipment and materials assessment and site support.
