Job summary

National Highways in England seeks a Senior Technology Engineer to provide technical leadership for national OT renewals, covering CCTV, traffic signals and communications infrastructure. You will drive standardised approaches and mentor regional teams in delivering renewals.

You will contribute to planning, design and technical assurance, ensure safety compliance and review third‑party designs against standards and requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Experience with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or similar OT systems.
• Experience supporting planning, design, assurance or delivery of infrastructure or technology renewal programmes.
• Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 and its application to infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and technical assurance of solutions for improvements and renewals of operational technology assets.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to regional teams in planning and delivery of renewals.
• Undertake technical reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Support project managers with equipment, materials assurance, contractor compliance and safety documentation.
• Drive health and safety considerations throughout planning and delivery of services.
