Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Senior Control Manager to partner with the GCIO CCO function and oversee the risk and control portfolio for Technology Infrastructure services within the UK. You will lead a specialist control team and ensure robust controls across configuration baselines, asset management, capacity, and cyber risk, aligned with third-party and cyber requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience within IT infrastructure and technology control capabilities.
• Strong hands-on experience in operational risk, non-financial risk and/or technology & cyber risk.
• Experience across Data, IT, Risk Management, and / or Audit roles.
• Proven track record of identifying, defining and solving problems that impact work or the wider business.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver process improvements and meet commitments.
• Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to senior management by partnering to manage operational risk, including risk assessments, controls, issues management and audits.
• Promote accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and analysis, challenging poor controls and related tasks.
• Provide specialist risk and control knowledge to improve the control environment and monitoring of risk.
• Advise and design processes and controls that are commercially viable and effective.
• Identify trends to anticipate future developments in risk and control environment.
• Update Senior Management on changes to policy or projects impacting risk areas.
