Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced GCIO Operations Manager - Cybersecurity in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on designing, implementing and running operational processes across the Cybersecurity COO remit, ensuring governance, reporting and strong controls in a fast-changing risk landscape.

You will partner with GCIO teams and support functions to standardise operations and deliver value while managing budgets, workforce plans and third-party performance across the cybersecurity portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in cybersecurity within financial services.
• Experience managing large, multi-year budgets and workforce plans.
• Ability to drive portfolio governance and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management across matrix organizations.
• Knowledge of risk management and incident response frameworks.
• Experience with governance tooling and financial planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a rolling 3-year workforce plan aligned to cybersecurity budgets and GCIO strategy.
• Lead workforce lifecycle activities with People teams, including hiring at scale and upskilling programs.
• Develop business cases for workforce initiatives including contractor replacement and AI impacts.
• Own multi-year financial planning and reporting for the cybersecurity capability.
• Identify and implement cost optimisation levers while ensuring cost recovery and MI.
• Oversee third-party management from deal initiation to post-execution validation and risk management.
• Govern portfolio oversight for cybersecurity change, including milestone definition and tracking.
