Job summary

NHS Jobs in Manchester is seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to maintain and secure our UK-wide infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will own technical services, drive improvements, and support cyber security initiatives with a roadmap for automation and AI adoption.

You will develop dashboards and reporting to support data-driven decisions, collaborate with clinical and IT teams, and participate in an on-call rota while traveling between offices and sites across the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise Microsoft infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Windows Server.
• Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and firewalls.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
• Experience in a cyber security-focused environment.
• Experience developing operational dashboards and technical reporting solutions.
• Experience with automation using PowerShell and/or Microsoft Power Platform.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Proactive with ownership and delivery improvements; able to work with clinical and technical teams.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and travel between UK offices/sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure.
• Administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and identity services.
• Support Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines and virtual desktop environments.
• Maintain DNS, DHCP, certificate services, and enterprise storage.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity and availability and implement improvements.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, standards and procedures.
• Support Azure networking, storage, compute, backup and platform services.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive.
• Support cloud migration, infrastructure modernization and technology refresh projects.
• Support LAN/WAN, WiFi, VPN and remote connectivity across locations.
• Maintain routers, switches, firewalls and network security appliances.
• Collaborate with providers and suppliers to resolve complex issues.
• Deliver cyber security strategy and monitor alerts/incidents.
• Produce reports on availability, performance, capacity and service health.
• Develop dashboards and reporting using Power BI/Mabric (Fabric) and other tools.
• Lead automation using PowerShell and AI technologies.
• Support governance of AI tools and security compliance (NHS/ISO).
• Drive innovation and automation to improve IT operations and processes.
• Provide technical leadership to IT Support Analysts and junior staff.
