Job summary

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) seeks an experienced Instructional Designer to lead the design of digital and classroom-based programmes. You will collaborate with the Learning Experience Team to create engaging, accessible learning that balances quality with budget and speed, supporting member development and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior stakeholder management, working with sales and clients to inform learning product design.
• Ability to manage diverse projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of learning theory and applying it to digital/face-to-face learning.
• Proven ability to innovate in instructional design with an up-to-date portfolio.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the instructional design process from analysis to solution for CIPD products.
• Develop engaging, accessible learning products for digital and classroom delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external organisations to shape content and approaches.
• Innovate content creation with focus on efficiency, speed, budget and effectiveness.
• Use insights and data to review and improve learning solutions.
• Leverage emerging technologies to create future-focused learning solutions.
• Support team across tasks to deliver learning as required.
