Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support town planning and consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects across the UK. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to secure consent under the Town and Country Planning Act and related legislation.

The role requires RTPI eligibility and a degree in town planning, with seniority in client advisory, project management and business development within a consultancy context.

Qualifications

• Lead preparation of Town & Country Planning Act applications for infrastructure projects across the UK.
• Provide sound technical advice to clients and support managing their consenting requirements, demonstrating awareness of client’s expectations and needs.
• Liaise with statutory bodies and stakeholders to help deliver projects.
• Demonstrate project management experience and financial awareness in a consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning applications for infrastructure projects UK-wide (TCA 1990 and related acts).
• Lead consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Provide technical advice to clients and manage consenting needs.
• Liaise with statutory bodies and stakeholders to deliver projects.
• Provide technical oversight across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support work winning opportunities aligned with growth strategy.
• Develop knowledge and contribute to team knowledge base.
• Be aware of project finances and demonstrate management experience.
