Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to lead town planning and consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to secure consent under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008, and related statutes, supporting clients across energy, renewables, water, and transport sectors.

The role requires a degree in town planning (or equivalent) and RTPI eligibility, with a track record of delivering planning solutions

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning or equivalent and RTPI eligibility.
• Experience leading planning applications and consent under UK acts (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of Town & Country Planning Act applications for infrastructure projects across the UK.
• Provide technical advice on consenting requirements and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Liaise with statutory bodies and stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
• Lead teams across disciplines and contribute to project delivery and bid opportunities.
• Support project finances and risk management within a consultancy environment.
