An established industry player is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to join their dynamic Town Planning Department. Carrington West is assisting their local authority client in the East of England to find a Senior Policy Officer (Infrastructure) to join their town planning team on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for rolling extension.
We seek an experienced planner to provide expert input into the production, implementation, and review of planning documents and supporting evidence bases. The role involves strategic influence in delivering projects that require infrastructure to unlock development. It includes analyzing, reviewing, and monitoring planning policy issues, conducting research, and contributing to policy development.
The post holder will play a key role in developing the Local Plan infrastructure needs, supporting the preparation and implementation of the Infrastructure Delivery Plan, and managing the Council's Community Infrastructure Levy project pipeline. The role also involves engaging with the Nationally Significant Infrastructure regime, including compiling information, responses, and maximizing opportunities from such schemes. The position is both internal and external facing, requiring engagement with partners and stakeholders on infrastructure and transport matters.

Qualifications beneficial for this role include a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration, or a related discipline, and eligibility for RTPI membership.
