We are looking for a Claims Advocate with solid experience within the P&I (Protection & Indemnity) business. Deliver high quality advice and assistance to Shipowners clients for P&I Claims Service, ensuring that Key Client Outcomes are delivered to pre-defined service standards. You will put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business.

The Role
  1. Accountability for Key Client Outcome (KCO) 5: Claims paid as contract within a reasonable time.
  2. Ensure prompt resolution of market-related loss issues and queries.
  3. Prioritize and complete all broking within targets; monitor and address exceptions.
  4. Manage financial aspects, including Uncorrelated Cash, and take pre-emptive actions to avoid issues.
  5. Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients, P&I Clubs, insurers, third parties, and service providers, referencing the Client Service Proposition initiative.
  6. Negotiate claims authorities and funds with P&I Clubs.
  7. Notify P&I Clubs immediately upon receipt of claim advice, responding as necessary.
  8. Negotiate claims settlements with P&I Clubs or Insurers to minimize client loss, especially on contentious claims.
  9. Work closely with colleagues on high-profile claims and maintain proper communication records.
  10. Travel as required for catastrophes, claims reviews, or marketing.
  11. Support the Sales team with accurate renewal information.
  12. Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities within the client/prospect base.
  13. Recommend improvements to claims processes.
  14. Adhere to Group policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  15. Monitor and act on P&I Clubs and service provider performance.
  16. Contribute to the Willis Quality Index as needed.
Other Responsibilities
  1. Provide input on BU client service approach to the Marine Executive Board.
  2. Oversee provision of management information.
  3. Support risk management efforts as per the BU risk register.
  4. Participate in loss prevention and claims seminars.
