Job summary

WSP UK is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Infrastructure Planning team in the UK. The role focuses on supporting town planning and consenting inputs for major, nationally significant infrastructure projects.

You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to secure consents under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008, and related regimes. We value experience in coordinating complex consent processes, leading client engagements and managing project delivery

Qualifications

• Experience leading consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical leadership and client advisory skills.
• Co-ordinating preparation and submission of consent applications under planning acts.

Responsibilities

• Lead consenting inputs on major projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Provide strong technical leadership and advice to clients and manage their consenting requirements.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning Act 2008 or other regimes.
• Act as Project Director for projects led by Infrastructure Planning.
• Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
• Act as Planning Expert Witness at examinations/hearings.
• Support and pursue new business opportunities in line with growth strategy.
• Demonstrate understanding of project finances and manage projects within a consultancy environment.
• Line manage/mentor colleagues involved in project delivery.
