Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Infrastructure Planning team in the UK, focusing on town planning and consenting inputs for major projects.

You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate consent applications, and provide expert advice to clients in energy, transport, and national-scale schemes. RTPI membership and a degree in town planning are preferred; experience with DCOs, DNSs, and TWAOs is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning or equivalent.
• Membership of RTPI is preferred.
• Experience leading town planning/consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Provide technical leadership and advice to clients on consenting requirements and expectations.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning Act 2008 and related regimes.
• Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects.
• Act as Planning Expert Witness at examinations or hearings.
• Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders.
• Manage project finances and delivery in a consultancy context.
• Line manage/mentor colleagues in project delivery.
