Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join its Infrastructure Planning team in the UK. You will lead town planning and consenting inputs on major projects, provide technical leadership to clients, and coordinate consent submissions under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related regimes.

The role expects project leadership, expert witness experience, and strong negotiation skills with statutory bodies, as part of a multidisciplinary environment that supports growing frameworks

Qualifications

• Experience leading consent inputs on major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to advise clients and manage expectations.
• Co-ordinate consent submissions under relevant planning acts.
• Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading the town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Providing strong technical leadership and advice to clients on consenting requirements.
• Co-ordinating the preparation and submission of consent applications under planning acts.
• Acting as Project Director for projects led and managed by Infrastructure Planning.
• Acting as Planning Expert Witness at examinations or hearings.
• Leading complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders.
