Job summary

Wiltshire Police in Devizes seeks a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to deliver secure, resilient on-premise and cloud infrastructure services and to lead complex operational challenges. You will work across on-premise and cloud environments, driving automation, mentoring colleagues, and supporting resilience, backup and disaster recovery activities.

AZ-104 certification and enterprise infrastructure experience are required.

Qualifications

Degree in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
AZ-104 or equivalent cloud operations certification.
Experience supporting and operating enterprise infrastructure services in complex production environments.
Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure operations and service resilience.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical support across on-premise and cloud infrastructure platforms.
Act as a senior escalation point for incidents, problems and changes, leading investigations and resolution.
Monitor, maintain and optimise live infrastructure services for performance and availability.
Support infrastructure resilience, backup and disaster recovery activities.
Implement infrastructure changes and releases safely and effectively.
Drive automation, standardisation and continual improvement for efficiency and reliability.
Provide technical expertise to projects and service transitions.
Coach and mentor colleagues to grow infrastructure engineering capability.
