Job summary
DWP Engineering in the UK is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to shape and deliver cloud-hosted infrastructure across multiple locations. You will design, implement, and operate public cloud services with emphasis on security and resilience, and work with product teams to migrate systems to strategic platforms.
You will support automation initiatives, mentor juniors, and help standardise hosting practices to accelerate delivery while ensuring high availability for millions of users.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and delivering Public Cloud infrastructure
- Ability to implement automation to reduce toil and improve reliability
- Familiarity with multi-cloud hosting strategies and standards
- Proven track record in supporting large-scale infrastructure deployments
Responsibilities
- Support design and implementation of Public Cloud infrastructure to meet plans and roadmaps
- Manage operation of Public Cloud technologies with a focus on security, availability, resilience, and performance
- Provide specialist technical support and guidance to junior staff
- Develop and implement service improvement plans for cloud-based tech
- Lead incident management for cloud-hosted services and platforms
- Collaborate with PDU teams to understand Ansible and GitLab instances
- Develop and support migration paths to strategic platforms
- Minimise disruption during migrations by proactive issue resolution
- Upskill end users and stakeholders on new tooling and processes
- Identify and implement automation to reduce toil and improve reliability
