Job summary

Aspect Resources in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (SC) to lead OCI/Exadata activities in a hybrid pattern across Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackpool or Newcastle, with 3 days on site. The role is a 12-month contract offering £700 per day (Umbrella - Maximum).

The ideal candidate will bring strong OCI/Exadata experience, Terraform and Ansible skills, and a security-focused approach on Oracle and AWS platforms.

Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer - SC
Location: Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackpool or Newcastle/Hybrid (3 days/week on site)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Daily Rate: £700/day (Umbrella - Maximum)
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: SC

Minimum Requirement:

This combination would enable the successful candidate to:

• Bring additional capability into the team and support upskilling of existing colleagues
• Take on BAU operational workload, freeing others to focus on more complex or strategic activity
• Provide support on more complex queries, including design work

In summary, we are looking for a well-rounded individual with strong, recent (last five years) experience in both OCI and Exadata.

• Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS)
• Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible
• Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
  • Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS)
  • Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle)
  • Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle)
• Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners
• Maintaining and updating repositories with Git
• Oracle skills
• Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai experience of supporting Oracle RAC including ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF. Additional experience of multitenant, TDE and TLS desirable.
• Specifically in a Linux/Aix OS environment
• RMAN Backup and recovery
• OEM, OCI's Db Management
• Patching and Upgrade experience
• Track record of supporting highly available mission critical databases
• Dataguard setup and configuration
• Data migration tooling Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM
• Exadata and Base Database configuration experience in OCI
